Junior skateboard event series returns in 2024

Skateboard GB are excited to announce the return of Survival of the Sickest in 2024. The junior series of skateboard competitions is growing and this year see’s plans take shape for six events across the UK.

Survival of the Sickest is the first junior competitions in the country and provides an opportunity for youngsters to get competition experience, while still having a focus on fun and progressing their skateboarding.

This year there will be 3 age categories: Under 17’s, Under 14’ and Under 12’s in both disciplines of Street and Park Skateboarding competitions. As always there will male and female competitions across the board.

There are prizes and trophies for each category and gender group. Prizes will also be awarded to Skateboarders in the event of holding best trick competitions.

The dates are as follows:

21st January    Loading Bay, Glasgow (STREET)
17th Feb           Mt Hawke, Cornwall (PARK)

23rd March       F51 – Folkestone (PARK)

27th April          Better Extreme, Barking, London (STREET)

25th May          Undercover Skatepark, Portsmouth (STREET)

26th October    Creation Skatepark, Birmingham (PARK)

Registration links to each event will be placed on the Skateboard GB website at least 6 weeks prior to competition HERE.

Additional information:
Minimum age is 7 years old and the ability to skate with other skateboarders.

You can choose to skate in the age group above your set one if you feel comfortable, however competitors will be limited to one age category per event.

Prizes and Trophies
There are prizes and trophies for each category and gender group. Prizes will also be awarded to skateboarders in the event of holding best trick competitions.

Photos
We aim to take pictures of all competitors which you may share on social media, however it is not always possible to get photos of everyone.

Helmets
In line with World Skate Helmets must be worn at all times during warm up and competition.

Refund policy
Refunds (less any card fees) will be made up to the end of registration deadline (usually 5 days prior, after which time we cannot issue a refund).

Late Entries
These can only be done with the approval of the Competition and Events Manager – subject to availability.

Skateboard GB Membership / Insurance
All competitors must be members of Skateboard GB to compete (or if a foreign National is a member of the National Skateboard Association).

Child Protection
There will be an appointed child protection officer at every event. If there are any concerns please contact them or Skateboard GB directly.
